How goes it? I know it has been a while since I last wrote I have been very busy. There is actually something that I have been wanting to write about for a few weeks now I just needed a little motivation. I ran into my old Bishop the other day and he asked me why I haven't written anything in a while so I figured that was The Lord kicking me in the butt telling me to write this email.
So in order for me to be able to share what is on my mind I will have to tell y'all what is going on in my life kind of. I just moved back home in Hobble Creek Canyon with my parents because I got a job in Mapleton. The job I got is with a brick mason company. I am now working as a hod tender. It is hard work and when I first started we were working on a Zions Bank in Ephraim. I would wake up at 5 in the morning and wouldn't get home until 7 or 8 at night. It was very physical demanding but the principle I was reminded of makes me grateful for the work and time I spent there.
We were laying brick on the roof above the drive up at this bank. Due to safety it was required that anyone who was walking out past the scaffolding you had to have a harness on and be tied onto the roof so you wouldn't fall. In order for me to get the masons the mud they needed I was required to be tied onto this roof. I could walk 20 feet one way and 20 feet the other way. On this rope i was hooked to there was this metal bracket that would slide against the metal roof and would bang against the scaffolding and it was actually really annoying. If I walked too far I would be pulled by this rope and it was really annoying. One of the masons that I work with said something that really just made me think. He said "the worst thing you can do to a man is take away his freedom." It really hit me and came with strong force into my mind. I think of the war in Heaven and satan and all that he has done. He tried to take away our freedom. He has the biggest influence for all the evil that has happened in this world through out all time. It made me realize how grateful I am for agency. Even when we go through the worst experiences because we chose the wrong path or someone else did. Agency is a beautiful gift we have been given. Probably the best gift next to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have watched people lately make choices that they know are wrong and it breaks my heart and those around them as well. Watching someone you love use their agency the wrong way some would say is probably one of the hardest things ever. At the same time as I have seen people make wrong choices when they are hit on the head and realize that is not where they are going to find happiness they turn their lives around. Watching those changes happen and seeing the difference it makes in their lives and knowing their testimonies of the Atonement are getting stronger makes all those tough sleepless nights sweet tasting. The fact that because of The Savior we can do this and those who we care so much about can do this is such a great beautiful thing that proves we have a loving Father in Heaven. It is my prayer that we will all use our agency to do what is right and set ourselves free because the commandments and principles of the gospel are truly what will set us al free! I am grateful for what I have learned and I hope someone else might learn something from it as well! Thanks for your time! Remember to find good in others!

John 8:32- And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71723741762518449.post-46435392439886907742014-10-24T09:55:00.002-07:002014-10-24T09:55:55.151-07:00Food for Thought by Weston 3-31-13So today as I was talking with my wonderful sister Dena she shared a verse that she read today and I think it is great and we can all learn from it. It is from the Doctrine and Covenants section 29 verse 39.
39 And it must needs be that the adevil should btempt the children of men, or they could not be cagents unto themselves; for if they never should have dbitter they could not know the sweet—
In this verse I learned that through whatever temptations or trials we go through is for our benefit because we learn the bitter from the sweet. I have noticed lately a few things that I just know I need to do better at and I have had a lot of things on my mind lately. This verse that my sister shared with me was great because it was something I needed to hear. Do you ever feel like when you have a moment like this that you just want to keep going and helping out your spirit? I usually do and I sure as heck did today which is why when I got home today I was on the churches website when I came across a great video that is just beautiful from President Eyring. I will attach the link here and if you have time to watch it do. You will not regret it. The video is called mountains to climb. In this video he talks about how we are all going through trials that might cause some to question their faith. He says that if you are in these trials and your faith is fading that you need to remember why trials come. The Lord passed through trials more terrible than we can imagine. He talks about how the foundation of faith needs to be embedded in our hearts or our endurance will crumble. It seems to me like with every gospel principle most the time it ties right back into agency and action. We all have the agency to act upon our faith and we can either move up that ladder which leads to eternal life or we can let the adversary knock us down time and time again as he comes at us so quickly and relentlessly. We have to protect our faith in our savior because if he is the rock of our faith our testimonies will never crumble. Things will get better in due time because the Lord will not forsake us. I have noticed in my own life that sometimes the best way to heal our spiritual wounds is time but we cant just let time go by. President Eyring clearly points out that we have to serve diligently with full heart and soul into spiritual strength. We all can find this happiness and know of the sweet sensuous times and recognize them and embrace them to the fullest and know of heavenly fathers unfailing love for us as we have the faith that president Eyring talks about.
The last thing that I wanted to bring up in this email is from a quote by Dallin Oaks from a conference talk he gave in 2000. The piece of this talk that stood out to me is where he stated "to testify is to know and to declare. The gospel challenges us to be converted which requires us to do and to become." Everyone that reads these emails has a testimony of the gospel but the true question is what do you do about it? When you can answer that question by saying you declare and strive to become like your savior thats when I feel you know without a doubt that you are truly converted. I love how he talks about becoming because that is so vital in conversion. Let us all be more of a becoming group of people so we can testify, declare, and do the things that show we are representatives of Christ. Thank y'all for reading and remember not only to keep on keepin' on but to look for good in others.

You probably are sick of hearing from me and if that is the case then you can just trash this right now: however, for those of you who may get something out of my emails or just like to read then here is some food for thought. I kind of have a confession to make. As many of you know I have made it a goal to go to the temple every week. Friday is the only day I can make it because school and work. I went to school this morning and I was ready to go to the temple after I got out of school. So I got out of school and I was tired. As I'm driving in my car towards the temple I just keep getting tempted to not go. I kept thinking it's just one week, you can go next week when your mom can actually go (my mom had to stay home with sick kids). I literally had to talk myself into going which I feel really bad about. I pulled up and I wasn't as excited to be there as I usually am. It was really just an off day for me and I know that when you are having an off day the best thing you can do is involve the lord more. So I went in and did work in the temple. Even after I did that work I didn't feel spiritually high or great after I walked out of there. I didn't feel like I wasted an hour or so of my day I just felt like it wouldn't have hurt me if I would have missed it. You might be asking yourself "why is Weston spilling all this to us?" I am about to tell you why. I got out to my car and I went to put my temple recommend back in my temple bag when I saw a little piece of paper that said thanks with a smiley face on it. It reminded me a few things. The first thing is that it might not have hurt me if I didn't go to the temple today but it might hurt someone on the other side of the veil. The second thing that I was reminded of was that even when you have an experience where the temple isn't as amazing as the week before or that one time you went with your grandma and felt the spirit so strong it is you showing God you are trying and when you do that he builds your faith. The reason why this little smiley thank you note reminded me of these things is another story which I am going to tell you. So this last summer right after I got home my family went on a trip to Oregon and California. When we were in San Diego (discovered by the Germans) we went to the temple and while there Dylan and I got to participate in baptisms for the dead. It was such a rad experience being in that temple and feeling the love from those people. After we finished the baptisms we went to go change and in my dressing room on the ground was this little piece of paper. It said "thanks :)" and when I read it I knew that it was from beyond the veil. There was someone waiting for Dylan and I to do what we did just like there are people who were waiting for me to do their work today. That note reminded me of that. I didn't go to the temple just for me, I went for those people who need our help. Every time I go I am going for someone else. I am a little embarrassed that I had to be reminded of that but I once heard a wise quote that read "good people learn from their mistakes but great people learn from others mistakes." The reason I say that is because it wasn't a huge mistake that I made and I feel like a lot of people forget the real reason we go to the temple which is for the people who need us. Learn from this experience. When we go to the temple let's all think about what we are doing and who we are effecting. I'm glad I had this experience because it taught me and built and strengthened my faith and it is my prayer that someone can learn from this. Let's build our faith and become who God wants us to be by doing what we are supposed to even when we don't feel like we are benefiting from it because it's not about us. Its about God and what He has asked. Thanks for letting me share my experiences. Keep on keepin on!

So this past week I had a great experience that may not seem very significant to many but it was a good experience for me. So I was pondering about a specific circumstance and praying and wondering what to do about it. I didn't know what to do. My Mom and I try to make it to the temple once a week (which we are awesome at by the way). On Thursday we went to the temple and did sealings. It was great as the temple always is! Like I mentioned I had been praying and trying to figure out what to do with this certain situation with my life. By the way it's nothing huge so you don't have to worry about what it is. When I got out of the temple I hopped in my car and I grabbed my phone to see what had been going on in the world over the last hour or so. When I look at my phone I had three texts that were an answer to my prayers and to my circumstances in life at that time. It was so great! it reminded me of these versus in the Bible.....
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My adoctrine is not mine, but his that bsent me.
17 If any man will ado his bwill, he shall cknow of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own aglory: but he that seeketh his bglory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
In these versus we learn that if we test the doctrine we will know whether or not it is what God wants us to do. In my case the doctrine is go to the temple once a week. As I have gone to the temple I have been able to see that is what God wants me to do and when I do so He blesses me with what I need. He always answers prayers. I learn every time I have to be patient because I wanted this answer right away but I had to be patient and He delivered as He always does! Glory to Him and gratitude as well. It was such a great experience for me to be reminded that when you do what is right God gives you what you need.
Another thing that i wanted to write about was a book/talk that I read from Pres. Uchtdorf called "Forget me not." In this talk I learned a lot and appreciated it so much (even though the talk was addressed to the relief society sisters). I liked how he spoke about forgetting not to be happy. Immediately when I read this part of the book I was thinking of my Grandma. She was always the person in my life that could make me smile. No matter how I was feeling whether I was up or down she could cheer me right up. As many of you know I wasn't always the happiest person growing up but I remember she would come in the house and give me a big hug and a kiss and would pull me up out of my chair and would dance with me. I sure miss that. She never forgot to be happy. I wasn't able to be at her funeral, but I did watch the recording of it and I've been wanting to write a thankful little note to her and my Grandpa Jackson. I am so grateful for both of them in my life for all they have done. Grandma Jackson implanted in my brain that I choose what I want to be. When I wake up in the morning I can choose whether or not I want to have a good or bad day. She didn't really teach me this with words either it was more by the way she lived her life. She showed this especially in the last few months I got to spend with her. She is such a strong person, as is her husband. I am thankful to my Grandpa for showing me strength and patience in those last months of her life. The other reason I want to thank him is for teaching me the importance of setting goals. Ever since I got home from my mission I have had the goal of going to the temple once a week. I wouldn't have had near as many wonderful spiritual experiences as I have had if it wasn't for those weekly visits. For that I thank him. I hope that we can all learn from both of them. Forget not to be happy and set goals and stick to them. It is my hope and prayer that we will all do these thinks. Thanks for your time! Keep on keepin' on!

Food for thought from Weston 12-8-12Hey guys this week as I was thinking about life and all that is going on in my life there was one principle of the gospel that would not leave my head and I did not understand why. That word is CHARITY. What is charity? I thought that to myself. What is the first thing that pops into your head when you hear the word charity? Some may say service or maybe the pure love of Christ. So what does that really entail? What is the PURE love of CHRIST? None of us can comprehend how much he really loves us all. For those of you who have kids or a spouse I know you understand his love a heck of a lot better than I do. When I ponder about Christ and all of the wonderful qualities he has the one thing that just gives me the chills and makes me love him so much is forgiveness. I have a quote from my uncle Bill that I received when I was on my mission and it has stuck with me ever since. He said about charity and forgiveness, "If charity is the foundational Gift of the Spirit, encompassing nearly all others, then FORGIVENESS is one of the chief cornerstones! They go hand in hand. Forgiveness is a hallmark of the “pure love of Christ.” No one did it better! No one offers it more freely. His ability to forgive is driven by love. That we could all benefit from this gift, as well, is a given." The greatest act of charity is forgiveness. My favorite verse comes from the bible in Paul's epistle to the Romans in the fifth chapter nineteenth verse. Because of Christ all of our imperfections can be forgotten because of the Lord, his love, and the principle of forgiveness. I love the Lord and know that no matter how hard it is to forgive people that have wronged us or those around us that it is Him, Jesus Christ that will help us through the process and we can forgive them even if we think it is impossible. We all want to be found with charity at the last day so forgiveness is essential for us all. In the Book Of Mormon we read:
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
47 But acharity is the pure blove of Christ, and it endurethcforever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, apray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true bfollowers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall cbe like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be dpurified even as he is pure. Amen.
May we all do everything to have this PURE love of the Savior so that one day we can be like him. As we do this we can all grow and do so together. No matter what someone has done to us we have to forgive them. The Lord will forgive who He chooses but of us we must forgive everyone and for everything. It will be well for us all and there will blessings waiting for us in Heaven and here on earth as we do this. Forgive everyone. Thanks.

How is it going? How is everyone? Well guys I hate to say it but at the same time love to say it but I’m finished! I have fulfilled all the Lord has called me here to do at this time in this area. As missionaries at the beginning we look forward to the moment we will finish and go home, so much. At least that’s how it has been for me. Now that the time is here I am so sad! I’m so excited to see my family and to see my friends and to tackle whatever is next in my life but I almost don’t want to leave.
As I look back on my wonderful areas and the wonderful people and the changes I’ve seen people make, it makes me sad that I’m leaving this. I will never forget the wonderful people. As I finish I know that something that I will do is make goals because I learned at a young age from Grandpa Jackson that goals help us progress in life. I never realized how right he is until I came on my mission. My Dad emailed me today and asked me if it was all I thought it would be... as I’ve been sitting here pondering that question the answer is it has been so much more than I thought it would be! It has by far been the best thing that I’ve ever done in my life and I’m going to miss it so much. I want to thank everyone for all the support and prayers you have given! I love you all so much. I truly learned how it feels to love someone and it is great! That is how the Lord feels about all of us but its deeper than we can comprehend. Always keep on keepin on.
If anyone is contemplating serving a mission my advice is DO IT!!!!!!!!! That might have been a lot of exclamation marks but it’s cause it is the greatest thing in the world for 19-27 year olds. It is so great! I have loved it so much. I have had my struggles, as will everyone that serves. But the Lord lifts us up and we learn and grow so much for the better. Thanks again. Remember to keep on keepin on! I love you all! See you soon!

Hey Guys,
How is everyone doing? I hope all is well! I will be heading home in a weeks time from now. My feelings right now are bittersweet. It almost doesn’t seem real. I am very excited to see my family and to see all of you! It will be great!
I want to thank everyone for all the support youv’e shown for me and my family. It has truly been a blessing to be able to be here and serve here. I love it and will cherish this time I’ve had to serve the Lord, for eternity!
This week I want to share an experience that is great. It shows that age doesn’t matter the spirit will work through anyone that is doing what is right. So we were at a lesson talking to a lady who we are trying to baptize. We were talking to her and finding out her concerns about being baptized on the 9th of June. She wants her mom to be there but her mom lives out of the state and it’s just gonna be hard for her to make it and she was concerned about that. Her grandson who is 10 years old who we baptized in December bore his testimony to her and told her that its good that she wants her mom to be there but she can’t keep putting it off. He told her that he wanted his mom to be there for his baptism but she wasn’t there but it didn’t matter cause it’s what God wants her to do and it is for her and no one else. At that point she was crying and the spirit was so strong in the lesson. She came to church and really enjoyed it and was given an assignment to read a book for Relief Society so they can have their brunch this Saturday and talk about the book and she has almost read the whole thing. We went over yesterday and she told us that she wants to get baptized this Saturday and she’s excited. It is so great how the Lord works. It’s happened to me numerous times and it amazes me every time it happens. I love these moments. It makes all the tough times worth it. I know that her grandson has had a huge impact and that is because he has a sincere love and that’s what we all need to have.
When we care for people like we care for our own family members then we do what it takes to help them see the blessings. It was a humbling experience. One I will never forget. I will be finishing with a bang this weekend with our baptism.
Once again thanks for all you guys do and especially for the prayers. They help so much! I love you all and hope you keep on keepin on!

How’s it going? I hope all is well! Things here in the Texas Lubbock Mission are doing well! The work is moving forward. We are doing work! That’s what’s up!
So this week what I’m going to talk about and I apologize if I have talked about it before but I’m talking about service and how it just makes everything flow smoothly. So as missionaries we have goals and really the reason we have goals, I believe is so we can push ourselves to do our best and to help others. Lately in Plainview almost every single morning we have been getting up and going over to member’s houses or investigators houses and doing service. We have done service from rotor tilling, planting cotton, mowing lawns, all the way up to helping someone set up for a yard sale. We've spent a great deal of time serving in a different way than we usually do. We have been helping members any way we can. It’s taken up a lot of time and usually I think missionaries would be worried cause they wouldn’t be able to get the good numbers for the week but it seems like because we are serving and helping Heavenly Father's children any way we can, He makes everything happen. It seems like we go do service then get ready to go out and things have just been falling into our laps. It has been a real testimony builder to me that if you quit worrying about the numbers and about how you look to others and just get out there and serve and care about the people then the Lord will build you and others up and all will work out. When we serve we line our will with His will and it sure is great!
I took a picture of my vans that I’ve had for a while and before I left on my mission they were in pretty good condition and they got a rip or two in them over the last little while on my mission but over the last 2 weeks from all the service we have been doing they have just gotten wore out. So this week’s message is to wear out your shoes! Wear out your body in the service of the Lord. When you do this, you feel good, you feel the spirit and God helps you with things you need. As I’ve worn my shoes out and served my whole mission, the times that I know I’ve been the happiest is when I’ve just been focusing on the people and serving my hardest.
For example when I was in Midland with Elder Nelson (who is a straight up stud) we worked our butts off and just served any way we could. We had so much fun and so much success. We baptized and we loved the people. I know I learned that serving is the ‘bees knees’! I still believe that and hope that we will all go forward and serve! I love you all and thank you for your support. Keep on keepin on!
Love Elder Weston Reay!

How is everything going? So I only have 2 more times after today to write about either my personal growth or experiences. Today I don’t have a lot of time and was gonna skip it but I can’t cause I won’t be able to write many more times. It is crazy how fast time has been going. I swear it was January a few days ago and now May is almost over.
My little brother Dylan is graduating high school. It seems like he’s still 16 and I’m still 19. Where has the time gone? I want to congratulate Dylan for graduating! He is such a stud! I am proud of him and wish I could spend the day with him but it’s ok. I will see him soon. :D
Today I want to talk about being a good shepherd and watching over our sheep. In life our ultimate goal is to become like Christ. To do the things He did and to be like Him. We all want to be good shepherds and love and watch over our sheep. My uncle Bill wrote about how after we baptize converts they are our sheep and we continue to watch over them, love them and take care of them. In missionary work a lot of times we have a baptism then we just move on to the next one. But that is not at all what it is about. We create a relationship with these people we come in contact with from the beginning and as we continue to nurture and strengthen our relationships it builds more trust. When these people trust us, then there is so much more love and our concern for them and the welfare of their souls is greater! I’ve noticed as I’ve thought back on all the people that I’ve seen get baptized and been a part of their lives. I’ve had a good trust level with them and in missionary work we have to trust our sheep that they are doing what they say they are doing. If we don’t trust them then how can we expect them to trust us? They have to trust us with their lives. The Lord has entrusted all of us with the salvation of all these souls and it is our duty to watch over, love, help and protect His sheep.
I had an experience that really helped me understand this yesterday at church. I was in primary during sharing time and the teacher was talking about the Holy Ghost and how it guides us in our lives. She had one of my converts get up there and put a blindfold on and told him to make it back to his seat with it on. He tried but couldn’t do it because he couldn’t see. She then asked him who he trusted with his life and he picked me. Normally I wouldn’t have been in primary but I was helping with one of our other investigators that was there. I feel like the reason I was in there was to learn this lesson. I helped him back to his seat as the Holy Ghost helps us back to our Heavenly Father if we seek after Him.
Another thing that helps us all back to Heavenly Father is the members of the church, the good shepherds looking after all these sheep. We are to help one another, to uplift and love one another. When that is what we understand then that is when service is not only fun but it’s easy. This was a great lesson for me to learn and I pray someone else will get something out of it! Thanks for your time and love! Keep on keepin on!

How’s it going? So yesterday was Mothers Day and it was so great! We had a wonderful sacrament meeting. We had a couple from the mission office speak in our branch and they are legit and talked about how Mothers Day is all about honoring our mothers and that’s what it’s all about.(I love my mom and all she has done for me!) They also talked about how wonderful and powerful a child’s prayer is. It was great! I also got to talk to my family yesterday which was great! They are great!
So what I’m gonna talk about today is how sometimes we see people making mistakes but we don’t feel like we can say anything cause we feel like we need to correct ourselves first. I’ve learned that if you see a problem and there is an opportunity to help someone correct themselves it’s an opportunity to serve. As we all try to serve and become like the good shepherd we realize that everyone we know is a sheep and we have to look after them! It’s so great as we serve we come to know the Savior better and we also become more like Him.
Things are going great here and I’m sure gonna miss my mission in a month. Thanks for your love and support. Haters gonna hate! Love you guys...the TLM always on the cutting edge!
B E L I E V E !!! Keep on keepin on!

What’s good? How is everything? Things here are going good. My service is coming to an end. It is crazy how fast time flies. What will I do when I get home? Any ideas?
Today I wanted to talk about 2 things. The first is; last night I was thinking about the people from my mission that I absolutely love that have affected me. If they are on the email list I hope they know that I love them so much. The specific couple that I love that has changed my life that I will remember forever is the Slaughters! Man I love them and it has been a very long time since I’ve seen them but I want to thank them for all they do! They are the greatest people ever. They deserve the best and will receive it in heaven cause all they do for the Lord and their love for the gospel... great people! You all should be jealous of me cause I got to meet them and most of you haven’t.. (in your faces!) I’m so grateful for the wonderful people I’ve met! My life will be forever changed because of these people.
The other person I’d like to mention is Sherry Gooden. Man she's great! She will never know how much she has changed my life and how much she helped me. In each area I’ve ever served in, I have had a lady that I called mom. It has been cool to find my own little mission mom's in each area and how great they are. How I can turn to them as I can my own mother. And as I reflected last night on these area moms that I’ve had, I was just so full of gratitude cause the love they show me and what they have done for me! I love all you mission moms!!!!
The other thing that I wanted to talk about was finding investigators.. a lot of people think missionary work is all about knocking on doors but that is false. Knocking doors is not very effective. All the people that I have seen progress in the gospel were people who were referrals from members or friends with other investigators we have. We were at a party on Cinco de Mayo and there were so many people there and not one of them is a member of our faith. They were all great people and we were able to teach them by what we were doing and saying. I of course was running around playing tag with all the little kids having a blast and sweating like crazy. It was fun. And my companion got to sit and converse with a lot of them. We had the chance to invite them all to church.... none came yesterday but it was great to see that referrals are where the success comes from. Maybe some day soon.
This Church is true and it will help everyone who will put its doctrine to the test! Everyone who tests it will know it is from Christ and from God! It’s great to have that knowledge. Go share it with your friends! It’s your duty! I love you all and hope you have a fantastic Mothers Day! I know I will! Keep on keepin on!

What’s poppin? How are things? Go Oklahoma City Thunder!!! Let’s all hope and pray the Lakers or Mavericks don’t win the finals this year! Well enough of my little sports rant...
This last weekend was legit! We had the baptism for a little black girl named Genesis. It was such a great experience. She was so excited to get baptized and become a member of the Church. It was a great experience to share with her.
What I want to write about today is something that I’ve been thinking about lately.. I hope we all do service for the right reasons. I hope we do it for the Lord! I think too often we think that because we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ that we have the easy road but that is wrong 100 percent! Joseph Smith explained that service is what our church is! We kinda fall into little ruts where we are content with the amount of service we are doing and we aren’t going the extra mile that the Lord expects from us. We have all made promises with the Lord that we will do all we can to build the kingdom and that includes less actives and friends that are not of our faith. When we fulfill our covenants and do all we can, we all will receive blessings. It is a blessing to get to serve. It is wonderful to help people anyway we can. We should never feel obligated that we have to go help someone move or go visit a less active family. We ‘get’ to do these things so the Lord can build us up. We signed up for this. Some of us do more than others and we can’t complain about those who don’t have as much responsibility cause like the Savior taught with the laborers, we signed up to do whatever the Lord asks of us and sometimes He wants to stretch us and we need to be humble and willing to do what He asks. That’s what trust in the Lord is to me. This has something that has been on my mind lately. I hope that if I ever fall into a rut that one of you will love me enough to help me out of it. If you are in a rut I hope you will do what it takes to get out of it. And what it takes is loving service. Be willing to do what you promised to do and you will be so much happier!
I love you all and thank you for what you do for me. I will be finishing my mission here in Plainview, Tx. It is a great area and I love it here. Keep on keepin on guys! All the best!

How’s it going? What is up? I hope all is well! Things here in Plainview are good. The thing I would like to talk about today in the email is about what comes after baptism and how much joy it brings these people. As missionaries we focus a lot on the blessings that baptism brings which isn’t a bad thing. It is a great thing, but one thing that I’ve learned so much about this past weekend is the blessings that come when they are able to progress further into their conversion by going to the Temple. On Saturday we had the privilege of going to the Lubbock Temple to go through and support a recent convert from Midland. One of my favorite companions Elder Nelson was there and it was so wonderful to get to be there for this recent convert. I got to Midland like 2 days after she was baptized so we worked a lot with her and it was cool to see her continue to progress. Saturday I got to see her more happy than the day she was baptized. As I was sitting in the Temple talking with her and watching her reactions to everything, it was great!
The Lord taught me that yes baptism is so important because it helps them get ready for the Temple. The faster we get them baptized, the faster they will go to the Temple and receive that joy. Saturday was a day that Iwill never forget.
As I continue on with the last little bit of my mission I will be using this experience as advantage. It motivates me to try and help these people get where they need to be, so they can receive these blessings. The Temple is the greatest place on earth. I felt so great in there and throughout the whole day! We need to all go to the temple at least once a month. It is so important to keep us in the right way. I’m gonna write this email this week quickly cause we are playing capture the flag as a zone in a few hours and we have to drive a ways to get to Lubbock. Today what I am gonna talk about is a crazy experience I had yesterday. It has showed me two things that I already knew but it just reconfirmed it to me.<br /> The first is that God is real and loves us all! The second is that we all need to take every situation we are in and make the best of it. So we were visiting a member with the Young Men’s President and we were in the house with the door open and we were talking when we heard this pop and then we heard a scream. I jumped up and ran out the door as well as the Young Men’s President. The pop was a baby in a stroller getting hit by a truck. My first thoughts were "oh my gosh I’m gonna see a dead baby in a second." The Young Men’s President is immediately on the phone with 911. At this point we are walking over to the scene and I’m preparing myself mentally to see a site that I was thinking in my head that I didn’t want to see but I had to help however I could. We get over to the scene which was only a few hundred feet from the house and when we get there the baby is crying which is good to me cause it meant the baby is alive. The Dad pulls the baby out of the stroller and the baby immediately stops crying and looks ok. The Mom on the other hand was freaking out. She wasn’t hit or anything but her baby had just got hit. Obviously this was an accident cause they were walking in the street and the driver had sun in his eyes and didn’t intentionally do it but the Mom was accusing him of it and all this stuff just cussing at him and freaking out. She called her Mom and told her to come and was just going crazy. The ambulance got there and the EMT took the baby in the ambulance to check it out. The cops got there and were asking questions. The Father of the baby said the guy pulled up on the curb and swerved at them which was a lie cause the way the truck was parked. At this point I’m thinking to myself "how did this baby get hit by a truck going 35 miles per hour and not be hurt?" The guy driving the truck obviously felt terrible and was apologizing to whoever he could and felt terrible and the parents of the child weren’t making it any better on him. The EMT came out and said "this baby is perfectly fine". I learned a few things right then. God is real! That stroller saved that baby and miracles do happen. We witnessed a miracle! How that baby is not in critical condition is beyond me but I know God is watching out. <br /> The being grateful part happened after we left and went back inside for the lesson. So were having the lesson and I’m sitting so I can see out the door and we hear these cars pull up and it’s the Mom’s family that pulled up and they come out of their cars freaking out cussing and attacking the guy that was driving. Instead of being grateful that the baby was ok they wanted to make the driver more miserable than he already was. Maybe it’s cause they are miserable already and misery loves company. But I learned once again that it doesn’t matter what happens to us. We have to have a good attitude and an attitude of gratitude is the ‘bees knees!’ It was an experience I’ll always remember. It’s been on my mind since it happened. It was such a testimony builder that miracles still happen and that God is real. I hope you guys think about this and think about things you can be more grateful for that you might take for granted. Let us all be the best most grateful people on the planet cause we are all truly blessed being members of this church and having all the wonderful things we have. I am grateful for all of you! I love you all! Keep on keepin on!<br /><br />All the best<br /><br />Elder Weston Reay<br /><br />pic 1- Leiza's baptism. <br />pic 2- Kevin and I. How goes erryone? How was Easter for everyone? I hope you all got to reflect back on the life of the Savior and what He has done for us all. It was great to be a missionary for a third Easter now. I got to teach people during this very spiritual time of the year and people were very in tune just because the spirit, that bearing your testimony of the Savior, brings. It was great! <br /> This week I want to tell you guys some stories about following your promptings! So on Wednesday we tried a few of the people we have been working with and they Weren’t home and I'll be honest with you guys I do not like knocking doors at all and it’s like last resort for me cause it’s not effective but I had a prompting that we needed to go to this one part of town that was just a few blocks from where we were. So we drove over there and parked the truck and we knocked. We knocked on two doors. The second door we knocked on was a lady from Nigeria that just opened up her door and let us right in. So far the story doesn’t sound that cool and I would agree with you but it is what happened next that really shows that following promptings is where success comes. After we left this lady from Nigeria’s house we went to visit a member and she told us about this girl she’s been working with from Nigeria and how she went and visited her an hour before we ran into this lady from Nigeria. It turns out it is the same person. It turns out that this lady from Nigeria is someone that one of our members has been working with. It shows and proves that God cares so much about everyone no matter who they are. He is showing His love to this lady. She needs the gospel as does everyone in the world and right now it is turning out to be her time. Way cool story and experience. <br /> The other story on following promptings happened yesterday; so we have a family we are working with that needs a ride to church every week. There is two sisters in our branch that always help out but one was out of town this weekend and the other is in charge of choir and they had practice before church. We had tried a bunch of other people to get them a ride but in a branch you only have so many people that are active that will help out. I was stressed out cause it was looking like it wasn’t gonna work out. While I was showering earlier that morning there was this old couple that popped into my head but I thought to myself "I don’t think they will be good for this particular family. As I was sitting there stressing out I got the prompting again so I called them and they were willing to do it and it worked out. As it turned out the sister who picked them up is the teacher for the 8 year old girl we are working with. God knows these people and what they need. I learned two important things ALWAYS FOLLOW PROMPTINGS and YOU CAN RECEIVE REVELATION ANYWHERE (even in the shower). <br /> May we all follow our promptings and do what He wants us to do, to bless the lives of His children. You won’t regret it... no regrets that’s my motto, that and everyone ‘wang chung’ tonight... name that movie... thanks for all you guys do. Keep on keepin on and know that I love you and am grateful for all you guys!<br /><br />Love Elder Reay Bay Bay<br /><br />pic 1- my sweet hulk easter egg.<br />pic 2- the zone last p-day playing humans vs zombies on tech campus. way fun!!!!! guns up.<br />pic 3- employees(with way awesome jackets)onlyUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71723741762518449.post-88952719658503447302012-04-02T16:14:00.002-07:002012-04-02T16:19:08.398-07:00Elder Scott is the man!<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hqm2h2SNShw/T3ozozyQQaI/AAAAAAAAA04/kTxDFgvm5Gk/s1600/me%2Band%2Bnelson%2Bmid%2Bgame.%2Bhes%2Bbig%2521.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hqm2h2SNShw/T3ozozyQQaI/AAAAAAAAA04/kTxDFgvm5Gk/s400/me%2Band%2Bnelson%2Bmid%2Bgame.%2Bhes%2Bbig%2521.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5726946652343779746" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IBG6OvjVDXI/T3ozoAzogrI/AAAAAAAAA0s/GnUTTcHDlH8/s1600/me%2Band%2Byoda.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IBG6OvjVDXI/T3ozoAzogrI/AAAAAAAAA0s/GnUTTcHDlH8/s400/me%2Band%2Byoda.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5726946638659355314" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aEf0fVJD_20/T3oznupGHgI/AAAAAAAAA0g/JPMn-CKywnw/s1600/even%2Bafter%2Belder%2Bnelson%2Bowned%2Bme%2Bat%2Bbasketball%2Bwe%2Bwere%2Bhaving%2Ba%2Bgood%2Btime..JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aEf0fVJD_20/T3oznupGHgI/AAAAAAAAA0g/JPMn-CKywnw/s400/even%2Bafter%2Belder%2Bnelson%2Bowned%2Bme%2Bat%2Bbasketball%2Bwe%2Bwere%2Bhaving%2Ba%2Bgood%2Btime..JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5726946633783320066" /></a><br />Hey Guys,<br /> How’s it going? Things here in the TLM are great! This last week we have seen a lot of success. Plainview is on fire right now! We set four baptismal dates the last few days and things are gonna be amazing in the month of April. It is gonna be the most successful month as far as baptisms go in the history of our mission, so it will be exciting! It will be cool to be here for this! <br /> The thing I would like to write about today is about a talk that I heard during General Conference on Saturday afternoon. It was a talk given by Elder Richard G Scott. Ss many of you know, if not all of you, my Grandma passed away last July. It has not been the easiest thing to deal with being away from home. I did get to say my goodbyes and I am where she wants me to be but I still have had a bit of a struggle with it. Elder Scott is the man! That man has so much love for his wife it is amazing and really inspiring! That is the way it should be! His spouse comes before anyone else in his life besides God of course and that’s something I’m gonna strive for when I get .......... well, we will talk about that later. The distant future, what a scary thought. But anyways in his talk he talked about something that was very special to me and I want to share it with you guys because maybe it is something that will help someone that you know or maybe it will help you. He talked about how even though our loved ones have passed on we can still strengthen relationships with them. As we accept and have the faith that in a short time we will see them and accept things then not only will things get better, but our relationships will grow beyond the veil. That is so amazing that we are able to feel that. as I’ve thought back on the time since she passed I feel like I am very very close to my grandmother and that she is sitting in on my lessons and discussions and is proud of what I am doing. I love her so much. She is a great influence in everyone’s life that ever knew her. I loved what Elder Scott said about that. I also liked how he said a good sense of humor invites the spirit which opens up personal revelation. once again like I’ve said in the past being myself is what makes me happy and see success and I think that what he said about a sense of humor is spot on. I love to see President Monson get up and crack jokes and just show that he’s a normal person which is something he actually mentioned in conference. He’s just one of us. as we all have a good sense of humor and accept gods will we receive revelation for ourselves and strengthen relationships with those around us and those who have passed on. I’m so grateful for our leaders. It is a testimony builder to have the opportunity to listen to them speak every six months. I know they are men and women called of god and are truly inspired to represent the church of Jesus Christ! Thanks for all you guys do for me! Thanks for being you and for your prayers! I love you all! Keep on keepin’ on!<br /> <br />Love Elder Weston Reay<br /><br /><br /><br />pic 1-even after elder nelson owned me at basketball we were having a good time.<br />pic 2-me and yoda<br />pic 3- me and nelson mid game. hes big!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71723741762518449.post-46765113356350828712012-03-26T13:55:00.003-07:002012-03-26T14:00:51.308-07:00Remember who you are!<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-375z6W8Wnqg/T3DYVw7wWCI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/wyZBbxqi83A/s1600/me%2Band%2Belder%2Bcherrington%2Bspinning.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-375z6W8Wnqg/T3DYVw7wWCI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/wyZBbxqi83A/s400/me%2Band%2Belder%2Bcherrington%2Bspinning.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5724312994812287010" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ws5TNP0rB5c/T3DYVbw237I/AAAAAAAAA0E/2M47qgZK-II/s1600/-%2Blook%2Bat%2Bthat%2Blove%2Btrain.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ws5TNP0rB5c/T3DYVbw237I/AAAAAAAAA0E/2M47qgZK-II/s400/-%2Blook%2Bat%2Bthat%2Blove%2Btrain.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5724312989129433010" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mHNFHcmJo7Q/T3DYU-zzfbI/AAAAAAAAAz8/1UrM4XD2RdE/s1600/pic%2B1-%2Bme%2Bdrako%2Band%2Bgeorge.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mHNFHcmJo7Q/T3DYU-zzfbI/AAAAAAAAAz8/1UrM4XD2RdE/s400/pic%2B1-%2Bme%2Bdrako%2Band%2Bgeorge.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5724312981357166002" /></a><br />Hey Peoples,<br /> What’s crackin? How is everyone? So I hear my team(Louisville) is in the final four. Watch out! So things in Plainview are going great! And I am so excited for general conference this weekend! It’s so great and such an inspiring event. Sometimes I wish we had it once a month! We wouldn’t appreciate it as much probably! I can’t wait to hear exactly what it is that our Father in Heaven wants us to hear and particularly me! I’m sure there will be something that will just be great for me.<br /> I have a great story this week and it’s along the lines of what I shared a few weeks ago but this story is so cool! It’s about service and being who you are and effecting people. It kind of reminds me of the story I gave at my farewell about the boy who was saved by the act of a friend. So there is one of our members who was in the hospital this past weekend and they announced it at church. One of our investigators was there and said he was gonna go visit the member. As a family they went and got a card which (was funny by the way) and they took it to the member. When this brother in the hospital saw the family, he was so surprised and said "I didn’t know you guys even knew who I was". The investigator said to him "you are part of the reason I’ve kept coming to church". When we went and visited him the member told us about this and I kinda started choking up because you never know the impact you have on people. This brother didn’t realize the impact he had on our investigator. It was so cool. We all have that impact on people. There have been areas that I’ve left and talked to missionaries months down the road and they said the investigators stuck with it cause I was persistent with them or because I had an impact. Just like a girl in Lubbock that my family got to meet last weekend. She told my Mom that before her baptism I told her something, that I don’t even remember but she said it helped her so much with her conversion. We all have this power and we have to always remember that our actions speak a lot louder than our words. <br /> My mom sent me a story this week about purses and what women put in their purses and I know that she talked about how we have to have good morals and be examples of the believers and our pursers (or satchels lol) will show by what is in them, just life what we are doing in our lives. <br /> That’s what’s up! But I love all of you guys. Remember who you are! Make sure to always be a disciple of Christ, people are watching and listening whether you know it or not. You guys are great and have been good examples to me and for that I thank you all! Keep on keepin on! God is great and this church is true. All the best!<br /> <br /> Elder Weston Reay<br /><br />The pictures are of my Zone on P-day at the skating rink. I was in my element and it was great. Well I hope things are good! Things here are going pretty good. I'm still in Plainview, Texas and it will be 6 months by the end of this transfer. Yesterday my group from the MTC went home and it has been a bit of a hard thing to go through but I will be able to do it, will help from the Lord. I can do all things through Jesus Christ which strengthens me. This is going to strengthen me. We can all do the things we don’t think are possible to bear with the help of our beloved Savior Jesus Christ! I know that these next few weeks are going to be hard because I know all the people I went into to mission with are home. But I will be able to do it because God qualifies us to do the work He calls us to do, if we just put our trust in Him!<br /> The thing I want to talk about today I have talked a lot about in the past but it is standing out to me right now because I recently had a companion who told me that the main thing he learned from me was ‘being yourself’. He wrote in my journal that he learned that it doesn’t matter who the person is. That you have to be yourself around them or it isn’t real. He learned that that’s when people respect and love you the most because when you are yourself you gain a love for someone and all you want is what is best for them. When you aren’t yourself you’re focusing way too much on impressing instead of just loving. I’ve had a lot of experiences with this lately. It has reminded me of times when I have been myself and I’ve been able to help someone with something just cause I was being who I am. The Lord is perfecting me daily but for the most part I’m still the same Weston that I was before I came. I’m just the best version of Weston right now. That’s where the Elder comes into play. And I’m coming up on the time where I go home and really what I need to do and we all need to do is still be this person(the best version/spiritual Weston), so I can help others throughout my life. If we can all learn to be ourselves and let the Lord perfect us instead of trying to impress others we can and will all become better versions of ourselves.<br /> I hope all is well and I thank everyone for their support and love. I love you guys and hope you all keep on keepin on!<br /> <br /> Love Elder Weston ReayUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71723741762518449.post-50868804619490344382012-03-08T12:05:00.001-08:002012-03-08T12:07:24.507-08:00We have all covenanted to do service!<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-piET-nLMxLI/T1kRc0LNQWI/AAAAAAAAAy0/aTf_EvTmV5M/s1600/weston%2Band%2Bin%2Band%2Bout.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-piET-nLMxLI/T1kRc0LNQWI/AAAAAAAAAy0/aTf_EvTmV5M/s400/weston%2Band%2Bin%2Band%2Bout.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5717620388663214434" /></a><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cEVY8i8LTQQ/T1kRccs8f3I/AAAAAAAAAyk/heK7l39kwUI/s1600/Weston%2Band%2Ba%2Bbasketball%2Bteam.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cEVY8i8LTQQ/T1kRccs8f3I/AAAAAAAAAyk/heK7l39kwUI/s400/Weston%2Band%2Ba%2Bbasketball%2Bteam.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5717620382362271602" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w19srozfye4/T1kRb_Lx_EI/AAAAAAAAAyc/OJM4WaOmPYc/s1600/laying%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bcar.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w19srozfye4/T1kRb_Lx_EI/AAAAAAAAAyc/OJM4WaOmPYc/s400/laying%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bcar.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5717620374438542402" /></a><br />Hey peoples in places,<br /> What it do? How are you guys doing? What has been going on? Well this week I don’t have a ton of time but I would like to talk about service. Whenever I think about service or hear the word service one person pops into my head immediately and that is my Dad. He has always been a great example of someone who serves even when he could be doing so many other things for himself. Even when he didn’t want to, he would do it. He’s never really got recognition but that’s never been why he has done it. He’s done it cause he loves the Lord. That’s where we all have to get in our lives. We either do things out of obedience, guilt, we're told to, for blessings or because we love the Lord. King Benjamin of course is a great example of a servant even though he was a king. <br /> There is a member here who recently got released from the Branch Presidency and he reminds me of my Dad. On Sunday there were 3 or 4 people that got up and thanked him for all of his service. This guy is awesome! He comes out and does visits with us all the time! He is always wanting to serve. He's the same way as my Dad. He does it out of love for the Lord. The people who bore their testimonies said numerous times that people are watching and paying attention and we may not get the recognition. But people notice and are thankful for it. I would like to recognize my Dad right now and tell him thanks for all of his service whether it has been for me or for others. He is a great example. I know that everyone who knows him thinks this because he is a great person. If we can all learn and train ourselves to do service not out of obligation but do it out of pure love for the Lord we will find true joy in this life. We have all covenanted to do service and God has promised us His spirit and a remission of sins as we do so. When we serve we are repenting and perfecting ourselves. And as we do it out of love we perfect ourselves to the fullest. <br /> I love the examples of service I’ve seen in my life. My Mom is also a great example! My Grandparents on both sides, my brothers and sisters, Brad Ross, the list could go on and on. I think about these people and they are happy because they do what they do for the Lord and that’s what we all need and should do. Thanks for all your prayers and for all your love and support. Keep on keepin on! <br /><br />Love Elder Weston ReayUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71723741762518449.post-86805265409480300082012-03-01T19:35:00.001-08:002012-03-01T19:38:09.868-08:00the Lord will give us a portion of His spirit<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U3lpjhJDGhc/T1BAnP_z6vI/AAAAAAAAAyM/rZ2z5u77-ng/s1600/weston%2Band%2Bmoss%2Bwith%2Binvestigators.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 221px; height: 166px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U3lpjhJDGhc/T1BAnP_z6vI/AAAAAAAAAyM/rZ2z5u77-ng/s400/weston%2Band%2Bmoss%2Bwith%2Binvestigators.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5715138970186410738" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eYJyyzm9B-w/T1BAnLhkWoI/AAAAAAAAAyE/VECijOq_bSs/s1600/weston%2Bon%2Ba%2Bbike.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eYJyyzm9B-w/T1BAnLhkWoI/AAAAAAAAAyE/VECijOq_bSs/s400/weston%2Bon%2Ba%2Bbike.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5715138968985819778" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WOlOZMchKZw/T1BAmbjY1gI/AAAAAAAAAx4/LYWhTCiHeP0/s1600/weston%2Bon%2Ba%2Bboat.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WOlOZMchKZw/T1BAmbjY1gI/AAAAAAAAAx4/LYWhTCiHeP0/s400/weston%2Bon%2Ba%2Bboat.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5715138956108551682" /></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GssWedUuFek/T1BAl1r45lI/AAAAAAAAAxs/86hLClwUduk/s1600/weston%2Bon%2Ba%2Bsteer.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GssWedUuFek/T1BAl1r45lI/AAAAAAAAAxs/86hLClwUduk/s400/weston%2Bon%2Ba%2Bsteer.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5715138945943660114" /></a><br />Hey Everyone,<br />How is it going? Things here are great! There are a few things I would like to talk about. This weeks email will be a lot about prayer and the power behind it:<br />So this last Saturday I went out with one of my favorite missionaries. His younger brother was wrestling in a tournament that day and he asked if we could pray for him that everything would go good. So he found out this week that his brother had messed up his knee during his match and blew it out. He kept on going and the doctor told him that he wasn't gonna be able to keep wrestling but he wanted to at least try so in the third round he got out there and before he stepped into the circle with his dislocated knee was and when he stepped in his knee went into place and he wrestled the match and beat the guy. There was a lot of people praying for him. His coach told him that there must have been a lot of people praying for him cause how his knee was healed like that is a miracle. Isn't prayer great? I sure think so.<br />The other experience I wanted to share was about a family that I love so much! They are my favorites! We have been working with them for a while now. We went over to their house on Saturday and talked to them a lot about baptism and how it's what God wants for them now and they were receptive to it But they weren't sure so we had a kneeling prayer right then and there. It was so amazing, the spirit that it invited! They felt the spirit really strong and it was amazing to see how important it is to make sure to have at least one spiritual experience a day. The father said the prayer and asked Heavenly Father to show him the way and he was so sincere about it. So the next day the father and wife came to church. It was branch conference and the Stake President got up there and told the congregation that 'if there is any people that aren't members that are thinking of joining the church, that they need to do it and they won't regret it.' So we went back last night and asked them how they felt and the father told us it was an answer to his prayer. He said he feels like God is showing him where he is supposed to be and how much hope it brought him. It is so amazing what a 5 minute prayer can do. No matter how hard of a time we are having if we will humble ourselves before the Lord and say a short prayer or read the scriptures, the Lord will give us a portion of His spirit and we can receive the strength and answers we need. It sure strengthened my testimony of prayer!<br />Thank you all for all you do! Keep on keepin on!<br /><br />Love Elder ReayUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-71723741762518449.post-28075063952535925872012-02-22T17:57:00.000-08:002012-02-22T17:58:11.901-08:00God is going to help us out and He did!Hey Peoples,<br /> Hows it going? Sorry there will be no pictures this week but I didn't take any. This week's email will also be short but I hope that you guys enjoy it. <br /> Things here are going really good. I would like to talk about goals and achieving them. Recently in our zone the zone leaders changed our standard of lessons with members present. We were able to reach the goal of the previous standard. Myself I knew that we would be able to reach the new goal if we just tried our hardest and were really dilligent and got on the phone and visited members. So last week we saw so many blessings! We set the goal to get members out with us and to teach with them and we exceeded the goal we had set. It was like things just fell into our laps. I saw as we set a higher expectation and really work at it then God is going to help us out and He did! <br /> He's blessing us missionaries here and He is also blessing the people we are teaching. As we are all dilligent with church callings and with helping people as much as we can we will all be blessed for our efforts. Thank you all for all you do and for the support! I love you guys! Keep on keepin on!<br /><br /><br /> Love Elder Weston ReayUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
