It’s hard not to get discouraged !

Hey everyone who reads this blog,
I don’t have a lot of time today but I would like to share a great experience that my companion and I had this past week. Last weekend we had a lot of good things planned. We had just met this new guy named Moses, who we were going to start teaching. We had an appointment with him last Friday and we brought a member to it But he wasn’t home. We called him and it was the wrong number. Honestly I let this get to me. I was discouraged about it. On Saturday we tried him again and he wasn’t there. It made sense that nothing good was happening for us on those two days because it seemed like we were having close to perfect days for the past 3 weeks. So we were discouraged about last weekend and we woke up on Sunday hoping that fasting and going to church would motivate us to work as hard as we can for the upcoming week. Church went really well and so did fasting. After church we thought we would go try Moses again. We knocked on his door and he was not there. We were bummed about it. We were just hoping that everything would work out but it didn’t. We saw a member at those apartment complexes. We started talking to her for like ten minutes and low and behold right when we were about to leave Moses pulls up in his car. His friend Alfred pulled up as well. This was a gift to Elder Soffe and I from god! Moses was so excited to see us! He let us right in and we talked with him and Alfred about the Book of Mormon. They both agreed to read from it and pray about it. It was a great spiritual lesson and it went really well. Moses even told us when we left that his house is our house and we can come over anytime we want. I love people from Africa! His friend is from Cameroon and he is from Kenya. They are so humble and open minded. They wanted us to teach them. They really wanted to learn. They agreed to come to conference this weekend at the church. We are so excited for these two men.
If we are diligent and put our hearts into our work then the Lord will bless us. It’s hard not to get discouraged when things don’t work out the way we want but in reality its all Gods will. He puts us through these things to strengthen us and help us grow spiritually. We always need to try and grow spiritually because if it’s not growing it’s declining. I have a strong testimony of this.
Elder Soffe and I are trying our best to be diligent and put our hearts into this work and really love it and it is blessing us so much. We have 3 baptisms coming up in the next 3 weeks and that’s because we are doing what we are supposed to and being blessed. I’m loving this work and all the joy that comes from it. Thanks for all your prayers! I hope you all have a good week and remember to keep on keepin on!

Love Elder Reay
